The Senate.

The Ambassador, Master Thrakan Vong, has informed some of us that he and other Guild Leaders have been discussing the construction of a Senate. A coalition of Guilds consisting of representatives from the Guilds that are participating, debating issues concerning a large majority of players. It seems more to me like a pre-emptive measure, to set it up for a time close to the game's release for debating issues like the servers of our Guilds and communication between the Guilds. I'm not sure if Vong is going to follow through on this massive task, but if he does I was wondering if the Council is interested in joining the Senate when or if it is formed, by assigning two trusted and active members to it as representatives of the Jedi Order. Again, I'm not sure if the Senate wil really be formed successfully, but if it is, it's always good to be prepared, especially in large situations like this.

if this does happen i am up for the task of ambassador. i am very active in the guild and i can represent the guild well. take me into your consideration and i promise i won't let this guild down.

I would like to represent our Guild too, but perhaps when the Council decides whether or not to take action we'll debate privately on who should be our Ambassadors.

I have seen this discussed on the TOR forums off and on. I think that this could be a good idea. I would help out the best I could if you are looking for volunteers, be it that I am only an Initiate.

Good Idea, Master Hybrid and Che-Ali would be the best picks to represent us.

Wonderful idea! If it can be implemented, it would be very beneficial to everyone. I will support the council's decision whichever way it goes.

I Do have to say I think it is wonderful! We need this especially getting closer to launch! I do think a master and a knight should be on board for this. They will have to be able to relay all this information to the council as well!

I agree. I would like to help represent the Jedi Order, I would fight hard for our ideals. I know Guardians don't often participate in diplomatic matters, but there have been alot of cases where they have been. A more known example would be Obi Wan Kenobi, The Negotiator. Besides, there may be a Council Of War in the Senate that I could contribute to.

If such a system is implemented, it would certainly be beneficial on paper.

The actual execution of construction of such an organization, and the day-to-day operation seems a little feeble however. It's too many schedules to coordinate at once for it to be truly effective in my opinion. However, if the leaders of the guilds find a good way to overcome such an issue and communicate freely... Go for it!

It can work and if so that would be great but. When there is a large organized group like this it will almost always end in a poewr struggle unfortunately. Still i hope it can be worked out peacefully...

That's also true, we'll have to prepare in advance for the setup and make sure no one group, faction or person has too much power. The system could be tough to create.

We all should excercise caution, not only the represenatives, but also our own members, in case our represenatives become tainted.

Though there is much room for disaster in this, i see more room for good coming of it. It would seem to be to the Senate's advantage that no guild be over the senate. instead have a rotating Chancellor for each session, that way one person allowed to gain power of the Senate

such unions can have both amazing results, as well as destructive ones. so long as the balance of power remains between all guilds involved in the senate, all should go well. the chancellor, if there is one, should be passed to different guilds from time to time, and nothing should be passed without total consent by the remaining members. it is a good sight to see soo many united under one organization.

Well, the senatre is up and running, and Master Shaak Ti is the new supreme Chancellor. They are now voting on the two advisors for her staff.
